How to Remove Rust From Your Countertops
Kitchen countertops are a part of every household. Because they are subjected to a lot of wear and tear, rust may form on the surface. This is unattractive and unhygienic. Many rust removers are on the market, but they are usually toxic and most people don't want such substances near their food. Home remedies can help clean a variety of countertops safely and easily. Whether made of granite, marble or tile, you can clean your countertops with items you already have in your kitchen.

·         Scrub off the rust with a kitchen scrubbing pad. Rub in circular motions to remove the surface rust. This is all you should need for small stains.
·         Mix together two parts salt with one part lime juice in a bowl. Apply the paste to the rusted areas of the countertop with a paper towel or sponge. Wait two to three hours. The lime juice has citric acid that breaks down the rust. The salt's abrasive properties scrub at the rust.
·         Dampen a scrubbing pad and scrub at the paste and the rust in a circular motion. Rinse out the pad and clean off the paste and rust. Dry the countertop with a paper towel.
