Pricing Differences Between Countertops-Benyee Quartz

Pricing Differences Between Countertops
Selecting a counter top for your kitchen is a decision that can greatly affect several aspects of your home. Kitchen counter tops come in a variety of colors, designs and materials, some of which are more expensive than others. Selecting a counter top that is economically friendly yet structurally sound can help to increase not only the look of your kitchen, but the value of your home.

Tile

·         Tile is not only one of the most versatile materials used to construct kitchen counter tops, it can also be one of the least expensive. According to reports published on Cost Helper, a consumer product research website, kitchen counter tops that are constructed out of ceramic tiles can average as little as $1 per square foot or as little as $30 to complete the counter tops on a typical 30-square-foot kitchen counter top. It is important to note, however, that pricing varies greatly based on supplier, the type of tile selected and the size of the counter, and pricing can go as high as $255 per square foot, depending on materials selected.

Stone

·         Stone counter tops that are constructed of materials such as granite and quartz can be another economical choice when selecting materials to use in your kitchen. According to the Cost Helper report, kitchen counter tops constructed of stone can average as little as $4 per square foot or $120 for a typical 30-square-foot kitchen counter top. Again, it is also important to note that stone comes in a variety of shades and styles and costs can vary greatly depending on the type of stone used in the construction of the counter tops, with higher priced stone averaging as much as $120 per square foot.

Stainless Steel

·         Of all of the materials used in the construction of kitchen counter tops, specialty materials such as stainless steel and copper are traditionally by far the highest in cost. Pricing for the typical 30-square-foot kitchen counter top can cost as little as $75 per square foot or as much as $2,250 per square foot, depending on the retailer, the type of material selected and the design requested. The vast difference in the cost of specialty materials such as stainless steel and lesser expensive materials such as tile or stone are primarily based on the costs to obtain these materials, which must be passed on to the customer by the retailer in order to make a profit.
