What Material Is Best for Bathroom Sink Tops

What Material Is Best for Bathroom Sink Tops
Bathroom countertops are a popular way for homeowners to customize their space to fit their ideal theme. Available in many materials, there are several important factors to consider before selecting a bathroom countertop.

Durability

·         Granite and engineered stone bathroom counters are very resistant to impact and are very difficult to scratch. Marble countertops are durable as well, but require more frequent maintenance.

Appearance

·         Marble, granite and quartz counters offer a classic, traditional look. Recycled plastic and tile counters offer a wider range of appearances to appeal to almost any homeowner, but are more susceptible to damage.

Weight

·         Granite, marble, engineered stone and quartz countertops are much heavier than those made of lighter materials, such as tile, plastic or laminate. This often necessitates extra counter support below, which can lead to additional costs.

Maintenance

·         Tile counters often collect residue and dirt in their cracks, meaning they require frequent cleaning. Granite and other stone counters do not need to be cleaned as often, but it is best to clean them with hot water and mild soap to ensure no damage is done.
