Why choose quartz countertop for your kitchen or bathroom

The world of interior design became a better place when quartz countertops became a real viable, stylish and functional contender for the those searching for a new surface for their kitchen.

Countertops are an important part of the kitchen, so when you begin the hunt for new tops you need to acknowledge the fact that kitchen countertops get used. A. LOT. Pretty much every activity, cooking or otherwise, happens on or around the kitchen counter.

From meal prep to homework doing and every soiree along the way, kitchen countertops see a lot of action on a daily basis. As enticing and exciting as natural stones like marble and granite are with their movement and elegance, one has to consider the upkeep they require. Natural stones are porous, meaning unless sealed regularly they can be stained easily.

Unlike natural stones, quartz countertops are man-made, engineered stone countertops comprised of about 90% quartz, (which is actually the hardest part of granite), and 10% resin or polymers. These stones are completely non-porous and require no sealing. For years quartz had a kind of ho-hum vibe because the offerings had a reputation of being somewhat boring and limiting, but today the world of quartz is broad and exciting. Companies like Cambria, Silestone and Ceasarstone have really upped their game when it comes to quartz. All have a wide range of offerings and they are constantly adding to their collections allowing kitchen designs of any aesthetic (traditional, transitional or modern) to utilize their products.
